Overview

Your Xona Critical System Gateway (CSG) and Xona Connection Manager (XCM) appliances require a valid license to operate properly. Whether you are deploying a new appliance, renewing an expiring license, or upgrading your deployment to support more simultaneous connections, you must request a newly generated license file from the Xona Support team. This article outlines how to find the unique identifier for your appliance and apply the new license once it is issued.

Step 1. Accessing Bulk License Management in XCM

  1. Log in to the XCM Web UI with a user assigned Admin permissions, or with the default local admin user.
  2. In the sidebar, navigate to CSGs.
  3. Go to the Bulk Actions tab.
  4. Click on the License Management button.

Step 2. Generating a Bulk License Request File

  1. In the License Management section, locate the form at the top.
  2. Use the form to select CSGs or CSG Folders for which bulk licenses are needed:
    • You can select:
      • All CSGs
      • CSGs (individual appliances specified by CSG name).
      • CSG Folders (to include all appliances in specified folders).
  3. Generate the bulk license request file by following the UI prompts.
  4. Save the request file as prompted.

Step 3: Requesting Bulk Licenses

Once you have your System UUID copied to your clipboard, you will need to contact the Xona Customer Success team.

  1. Draft a new email to support@xonasystems.com.

  2. In the body of the email, attach the bulk license request file you created in the previous step.

  3. Ensure you include the following details so our team can accurately generate your license:

    • Company Name: Your organization's name.

    • Reason for Request: Let us know if this is a net-new deployment, a standard renewal, or a request to increase your connection limits.

Step 4. Uploading and Deploying the Bulk License

After the Xona Support team processes your request, they will securely email you a new bulk license.

  1. In XCM, return to the Bulk Actions → License Management page.
  2. Scroll to the bottom form, which allows you to upload the bulk license.
  3. Select the license file you received from XONA.
  4. Click the relevant button to deploy the bulk license to the selected CSGs.

Step 5. Completion and Verification

  • After deployment, XCM will show a dialog listing which CSGs received the license successfully and which (if any) had deployment failures.
  • Note: You can also directly upload a bulk license to any individual CSG running version 5.5.2 or later (if needed).
